BIOGRAPHY

Gabrielle Albert advises clients in all aspects of corporate bankruptcy cases. She has represented all significant constituencies, including debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, landlords, indenture trustees and ad hoc committees. Her bankruptcy experience covers a variety of industries including tort plaintiffs, gym chains, retail chains, online merchants, oil and gas, and utilities. 

Ms. Albert is a member of the America Bankruptcy Institute and is the conference sponsorship co-chair for the 2024 Rocky Mountain ABI Conference.  In addition, Ms. Albert has been a frequent guest lecturer at the University of California, Davis on bankruptcy for undergraduates.

  • The Roman Catholic Bishop of Santa Rosa (2023) – co-counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors representing the interests of over 200 sexual abuse survivors. 

  • The Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland (2023) –  co-counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors representing the interests of over 300 sexual abuse survivors. 

  • Romeo Power, Inc., Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors, California (2023) – represented electric battery manufacturer in its wind down and assignment.

  • Speedboat JV Partners, LLC, USBC, N.D. Cal. (2022) – represented debtor in refinancing debt on Lake Tahoe property worth over $12 million, successfully opposing chapter 7 foreclosure sale, and obtaining dismissal of chapter 7 case.

  • Confidential Technology Company, Out of Court (2022) – counsel to technology company in acquisition of business in friendly foreclosure. 

  • In-Shape Holdings, LLC, et al., USBC, D. Del. (2020) – lead debtors’ counsel for premium regional fitness club chain in California, with debtor-in-possession filing and asset purchase agreement with purchase price of over $45 million plus assumption of liabilities.

  • Ravn Air Group, Inc., USBC, D. Del. (2020) – debtors’ counsel for Alaska’s largest commuter airline in its chapter 11 case, resulting in a confirmed liquidating plan and the sale of different business lines and assets in over a dozen transactions, resulting in anticipated aggregate proceeds of over $60 million.

  • PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company, USBC, N.D. Cal. (2020-present) – co-counsel for Pacific Gas & Electric Company in its chapter 11 case, the largest chapter 11 filing in the Northern District of California in over a decade. PG&E, which has over $70 billion in assets and employs over 24,000 employees, filed for bankruptcy in January 2019 as a result of challenges relating to a series of catastrophic wildfires that occurred in Northern California in 2017 and 2018.

  • In re Blockbuster LLC, USBC, S.D. N.Y. – represented ad hoc committee of movie studios in chapter 11 reorganization

  • In re Movie Gallery Inc., USBC, E.D. VA – represented ad hoc committee of movie studios which transformed into representation of creditors’ committee in chapter 11 reorganization

  • In re Webvan Group, USBC, D. Del – represented internet-based grocery delivery service in chapter 11

  • In re Tri-Valley Growers, USBC, N.D. Cal – represented farmers’ cooperative whose brands included S&W through chapter 11 reorganization and sale

  • In re Landels Ripley & Diamond LLP, USBC, N.D. Cal – represented law firm in chapter 11 winddown

  • In re Pacific Gas & Electric Company, USBC, N.D. Cal (2001) – represented parent company, PG&E Corporation, in chapter 11 reorganization
